    • Edith is the one mentioned in the Agnes Thompson letter to Frances Cox. She was in England before she married and found a James living on "the" (a) farm. Perhaps the 1891 or 1901 cenus will turn up something. She would be 19 or more in 1891, 29 or more in 1901. Look for the names James, Frederick, Henry and William, also look for them on an estate of 1000 acres, not necessarily owned by them (probably not).

      In the 1871 Census Carrie was just nicely married to Mr Thrupp, living along the Lake Erie shore (1st concession of Yarmouth, right next to Port Stanley it seems) and Edith's older brother was born and died at 6 months. Edith was not born yet.

      In the 1881 census, Carrie is just nicely married to Mr Price and living in Port Stanley Village, and Edith had a new half sister called Marion E Price, who was 2 months old, having been born in Feb (?). Edith was said to be 9 years old.

      James McCracken was from Chesley, his parents were from Bluevale. Perhaps he and Edith went to live in Chesley, they might bein the 1901 census there. He was 29, she 23.

      Edith's family wound up in the London area. One of the letters from Agnes Thompson to Frances Cox talks about Edith being in London in the 1960's. Somewhere else the name Spittal, in London, is mentioned in connection with this generation. This brings it down to the current (1996) generation.

      Edith and her husband, as well as her daughter (Spittal) are buried in Woodland cemetary in London, Section N, Row 30, #20. Spittals are Section M, Row 28, #25.
