    • The Marriage Index reference for William is incomplete, because part of the page is missing. It is clear, however, that the marriage was registered in Sherborne, in the June quarter, Volume 8, Page 17_ (the digit(s) after 17 have been torn away). The GRO birth index for William and Mary's second child Jane gives the mother's name as "Clothier", and we find a Mary Clothier recorded in the marriage indexes in the June quarter in Sherborne, Volume 8, page 179.
