- Silversmith. On completion of his apprenticeship Thomas gained the Freedom of the City of London. The Freedom certificate, dated 6th April 1910, names his 'master' as Charles Harling Comyns, Citizen and Goldsmith of London. The Comyns firm produced prestigious silverware that are still bought and sold today; everything from modern coffee pots to Victorian mirror frames.
