- Edgar served in the Royal Artillery, initially as a Clerk, then promoted to Sergeant in 1900 before he became a Master Gunner 2nd class in 82 Company of the Royal Garrison Artillery. His service no. was 14336 and he was deployed at the following:

India 1915 to 1919
Underwent a medical at hounslow on 26 February 1896, described as 5' 7 3/4" tall, fresh complexion, brown eyes and light brown hair with a mole on left side of chest.
Completed 21 years service on 11 November 1905. Embarked at Tilbury on1 May 1915 and disembarked at Bombay on 21 May 1915.
Murdered by rioters at Kasur, India on 12 April 1919, buried 13 April1919 in C162, Ferozepore. Comemorated at the Kirkee Cemetery.
