      Note from Irene McRae, Mar 5, 02: My Lowes came from Packenham Ontario (near Ottawa) in 1878 their modes of travel were interesting. They traveled to North Dakota by rail and then took the Red River steamer to Emerson Manitoba and completed the journey by OX-CART!
      There was a large family and William was second eldest. Both Fannie (Mellett) & Wm. H. Lowe died in 1949 and obit's mention 2 daughters one in Edmonton & one in Winnipeg, 3 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. My family 'lore' (if correct!!) says that Lottie Atcheson had 3 children the eldest being Jack ( circa 1910). There is hope - I think - of finding a bit more. Will let you know if I find anything more.
