Abt 1870 -
-
| Name |
Frances Sarah MALLETT [1, 2, 3] |
| Birth |
Abt Dec 1870 |
Longhope, Gloucestershire, England [1, 2] |
- In the 1871 Census she was listed as "Frances S Mallett", 7 months old, born in Longhope, suggesting that there should be a birth registration in the December quarter of 1870 in Westbury on Severn, the registration district for Longhope, but there are no entries for Malletts at all. There is however a registration for "Frances Sarah Gingle", mother's maiden name "Mallett", in the December quarter in Westbury on Severn. No corresponding Mallett-Gingle marriage has been found however, suggesting that this was in illegitimate birth. Gingle is perhaps a clue to the father's name.

- Mark and Charlotte's daughter Mary was living with them, along with her 2 children. Another Grand Daughter Frances Mallett, 7 months old, was also with them. She is presumed to be the illegitimate daughter of Ann, since Ann and Mary's brother Matthew was unmarried.

| Census |
3 Apr 1881 |
Union Workhouse, Alton Street, Ross, Herefordshire, England [4] |
- George, Fanny, Annie, and Arthur Mallet were all Inmates in the workhouse. They were all listed together, which implies a family group, and their ages suggest the same. They were most likely siblings, and perhaps orphans, but they might have been related in some way to Ann Mallett, age 38 and unmarried, also an inmate in the same workhouse. Ann's name was spelled differently, and she was not listed with the 4 children.
