Christine died in a house fire from which Robert and their son George narrowly escaped. m. (2) 23 Dec 1902 to Fanny (Mittie) Grey Wilson in Chattanooga, Tenn. Attended Mt. Allison U in NB and spent two years at Harvard. Went to Japan in 1893 as a Methodist missionary to teach. He retired and stayed in Japan. The Alexanders, Percy, Mittie and Bessie, often came home on furloughs brining many Japanese items with them, and left Japan in 1940 , just before the outbreak of war--presumably just after Percy's death. Percy taught at Aoyama Gakuin from 1909 until his death in 1940.(? --since he "retired" --maybe just as a missionary. Bur. in Japan.

He returned to North Am. because of some tropical ailment and was a Presbyterian minister in Michigan, died in Detroit in a pedestrian- auto accident. Bur. in Stanhope.
