. 1. Robert Percival (Percy) Alexander b. 24 Nov 1862 d. 6 Jan 1940 in Japan, bur. Japan m. (1) 27 Jun 1893 to Christine Vroom b. 1867 - d. 19 Jan 1899 in Hirosaki, Japan. Christine died in a house fire from which Robert and their son George narrowly escaped. m. (2) 23 Dec 1902 to Fanny (Mittie) Grey Wilson in Chattanooga, Tenn. Attended Mt. Allison U in NB and spent two years at Harvard. Went to Japan in 1893 as a Methodist missionary to teach. He retired and stayed in Japan. The Alexanders, Percy, Mittie and Bessie, often came home on furloughs brining many Japanese items with them, and left Japan in 1940 , just before the outbreak of war--presumably just after Percy's death. Percy taught at Aoyama Gakuin from 1909 until his death in 1940.(? --since he "retired" --maybe just as a missionary. Bur. in Japan.

(2) 7 Aug 1912 at Sheridan, Mich. to Emma Strong of India d. 31 Dec 1943 , bur. Stanhope.George Herbert (Herbert) attended a Canadian Military institution, graduated from Moody Bible Institute, and spent some years in Japan and India as a missionary, and also as a British Army Chaplain. He returned to North Am. because of some tropical ailment and was a Presbyterian minister in Michigan, died in Detroit in a pedestrian- auto accident. Bur. in Stanhope.
