- Samuel Robert Mallett died in World War 1. The Revd. Forster - the Rector of Kessingland in 1915, went back to the baptismal record of Samuel Robert Mallett in 1876 and wrote the following notes in the register:
Lost in tyranny Royal Edward Algeria 1915 in the Great War.
This man built the boiler house for the church - a hearty apparatus and was the son of Mr A. Mallett, our Church Warden. This man was lost in the Royal Edward.
