Notes Married:
- It was originally thought that this marriage pertained to John Mallett b. 1796, son of this John, but, though Sukey was only 16, all of the evidence points to these being the correct persons for this marriage. John b. 1796 is more likely the one that married Harriett Rickards and had a family in St Gluvias.
1. The name "Sukey" is quite distinct and certainly uncommon.
2. John's wife Alice died in 1815, 2 years prior to this marriage, and he had a house full of children to take care of, so would be looking for a new wife.
3. John himself died in 1824, leaving Sukey free to remarry, and then in 1834 "Susannah Harris Mallett" married James Martin. There were 2 possible Susannah Harris Malletts: mother and daughter. One married Martin, the other Plint, but it was more likely the daughter that married George Plint (her cousin?), since the mother's maiden name was Plint.
4. In the 1841 census David Mallett (son of Sukey/Susannah) was living with James and Susannah Martin.
5. John (b.1796) and Harriet show up in the 1841 census in Penryn, while John and Susannah do not.
