      The death of W J L Mallett, Tavistock has lost a well known inhabitnat . Mr Mallett who resided in Trelawny road, formerly assisted his late father in his business as a house decorator. In later years he was employed by the Duke of Bedford as a forman. He was a prominent footballer in the 'nineties' and scored the goal for Tavistock that broke the record of their rivals Plymouth United.
