      WO 12/10060 Musters, 1st Battalion Rifle Brigade 1826. Private William Gill enlisted on 17 July 1826 aged 18. Height 5 ft 9 3/4 ins. Bounty paid L. 3; bringing money and attesting 16/0d.; stationed with regimental depot in Dublin. WO 12/10061 as above 1827. Dec 1826 - Mar 1827 stationed at Drogheda; 13 days in hosptal 28 Feb - 4 Mar 1827. March: "on his way to join service companies." April "to service Companies 26 April" "Bd ship from 26 April - 25 July "joined Service Companies 26 July in Halifax, Nova Scotia from regimental depot." WO 12/10069 as above 1835-1836 648 Private William Gill was stationed in Halifax, NS. In regimental hospital 24 - 30 May 1836. WO 12/ 10073 as above 1840- 1841: Apr- Sep 1840 Weedon; Oct- Dec 1840 Weedon, at sea, on board Abercrombie Transport; Jan- March 1841 Malta. WO 12/ 10073 as above 1841-1842 Stationed at Malta; Private William Gill was discharged at his own request on 14 Feb 1842; no further details were given in the list on non-effectives; Discharge Documents also searched unsuccessfully (1760- 1854) WO 97/1079.
